We are very proud of our Commodores and all that they accomplish. We serve about 650 sixth through eighth grade students as they prepare for the transition into high school. Lafayette Middle School has high expectations for our students, but we know that offering a variety of activities and learning opportunities grows a well-rounded young adult. We work with each student to ensure that the lessons and coursework effectively delivers the appropriate level of rigor and support for each student.

The historic community of Oxford, Mississippi affords our students and families alike the ability to enjoy a variety of community events year-round. Our community offers farmers’ markets, art seminars, local forest reserves, and summer festivals, just to name a few. With a population of just under 20,000, Oxford has a crime rate that’s half the national average. You can rest assured that your child will receive a quality education in a safe, friendly environment.

Our district website offers more information about our curriculum as well as our surrounding community .
